Meet the Audiologist: Dr. Zarina Badalova-Naizam, Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Zarina Naizam

"My exposure to the world of hearing impairment started in early childhood when I witnessed its wide range of effects firsthand. My mother had hearing loss and it began to compromise her relationships with others. Constantly misunderstanding people caused her to be ashamed and led to the general avoidance of conversation altogether. When we came to America, the first thing we did was fit her with hearing aids as they were not readily available in Russia at the time. I was truly inspired by the overwhelmingly positive effects the devices had on my mother’s life and relationships, and I longed to improve other’s lives through better hearing.

I am now a licensed clinical audiologist in the state of New York. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Pre Med from Long Island University and a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University. I also have a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and I am a Fellow of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, I specialize in adult and pediatric hearing testing, and the fitting/programming/repairing of all makes and models of hearing aids. Technology moves fast these days. For this reason, I regularly attend seminars and workshops to keep current with advances in technology and new products.

Hearing loss is a challenging condition—it can have an impact on all areas of life including personal relationships and career success. It is very emotional for not only the patient, but also for their family and friends. I love helping my patients restore their ability to connect with the people who are important in their lives."

"It feels different with my hearing aids, and I’m definitely hearing better. It sometimes feels little loud in crowded places, but I’m going to test more and give you feedback. Thank you so much. You provided me with family-like care!"
